No plastic! Avoidance of plastic was the motivater for me. This is all steel and works very well. It's smooth, quick and easy to use. The directions for adjusting it are as clear as mud, but it's easy to find your grind regardless of the nonsensical directions. I have only had this for a few days, but I am loving it. It is satisfying to grind by hand. Top marks!
